Heraclitus was right!!

About 2 years ago I went through a kind of painful situation, which at the end was like a trauma, I was really scare of living something like that again; it was like when you fall in your first bike ride and doesn't want to take your bike anymore.

Some weeks ago I had to face again that situation, and finally everything went just perfect; In fact better than what I was expecting and now I feel extremely happy. At the end I realized that I was not completely healed from the 2 years ago situation, that I had to face it again, I had to compare it with the new one and I have to accept that I won't go through that again because Heraclitus was freaking right: "You cannot step into the same river twice, for fresh waters are ever flowing in upon you."

Comfortable

"Sometimes reality has a way of sneaking up and biting us in the ass. And when the dam bursts, all you can do is swim. The world of pretend is a cage, not a cocoon. We can only lie to ourselves for so long. We are tired, we are scared, and denying it doesn't change the truth. Sooner or later we have to put aside our denial and face the world, head on, guns blazing... Denial. It's not just a river in Egypt. It's a freakin' ocean. So how do you keep from drowning in it?

Some days ... the whole world seems upside down. And then somehow, and probably, and when you least expect it, the world rights itself again. We all think we’re going to be great and we feel a little bit robbed when our expectations aren’t met. But sometimes expectations sell us short. Sometimes the expected simply pales in comparison to the unexpected. You got to wonder why we cling to our expectations, because the expected is just what keeps us steady. Standing. Still, the expected's just the beginning, the unexpected is what changes our lives.

A wise man once said you can have anything in life if you will sacrifice everything else for it. What he meant is nothing comes without a price. So before you go into battle, you better decide how much you're willing to lose. Too often, going after what feels good means letting go of what you know is right, and letting someone in means abandoning the walls you've spent a lifetime building. Of course, the toughest sacrifices are the ones we don't see coming, when we don't have time to come up with a strategy to pick a side or to measure the potential loss. When that happens, when the battle chooses us and not the other way around, that's when the sacrifice can turn out to be more than we can bear" Grey's anatomy

Changes...

-->

Today I was thinking how difficult can be changing, as someone said Change is the only constant in life, we are unavoidably exposed to changes, but thinking about that, sometimes you don’t have the last word on the changes that happen in your life they just happen and when they happen the reaction can be not that good; so, it would always be better to have the control of changing, right? But why we are sometimes so scare of changing, being afraid of changing means that you feel satisfied with everything in your life but if it’s like that then a lot of things probably changed before reaching this state, something had to fall, Something had to move to get to this point and if you are not satisfied with something in your life then why so scare of changing, why not taking the risk for improving your life, why not having the courage, why we are so scare even to small changes when this could be one key thing to succeed...

Fairy Tales

"At the end of the day faith is a funny thing. It turns up when you don't really expect it. It's like one day you realize that the fairy tale may be slightly different than you dreamed. The castle, well, it may not be a castle. And it's not so important happy ever after, just that it's happy right now. See once in a while, once in a blue moon, people will surprise you , and once in a while people may even take your breath away. " Grey's anatomy

Barranquilla one year after all...

Bogota (Link to the post), more than a year ago I was writing exciting things about the place where I was going to live amazing moments of my life, that year changed me in so many ways and helped me to put in place peaces of me..Today I’m living another important moment where I’ve already learned that you have to close the cycles and that the inner peace it’s not affected for how comfortable you are in a place and how far you are from the storm but how comfortable you are with yourself, I’m definitely in my place: Barranquilla.

The regular temperature is 28º,it has amaizing places like bocas de Ceniza, historical placesl ike “viejo prado”, Museo romantico, Amira de la rosa.. We have the carnival, which is the most important and popular carnival in Colombia, where is reflected all our diversity, the spirit and the hapiness of our people. We have around 1 million of people and probably Barranquilla doesn’t have obvious stars to show, to discover it you have to eat raspao, butifarra, to go to eat chuzo desgranado with your friends, being in a Guacherna, have been in an “aguacero” playing with your friends, have felt the need of dancing when hearing Cumbia....

There’s no place like home...

The secret of success

"A couple of hundred years ago, Benjamin Franklin shared with the world the secret of his success. Never leave that till tomorrow, he said, which you can do today. This is the man who discovered electricity. You think more people would listen to what he had to say.

I don’t know why we put things off, but if I had to guess, I’d have to say it has a lot to do with fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, sometimes the fear is just of making a decision, because what if you’re wrong? What if you’re making a mistake you can’t undo? The early bird catches the worm. A stitch in time saves nine. He who hesitates is lost.

We can’t pretend we hadn’t been told. We’ve all heard the proverbs, heard the philosophers, heard our grandparents warning us about wasted time, heard the damn poets urging us to seize the day. Still sometimes we have to see for ourselves. We have to make our own mistakes. We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep today’s possibility under tomorrow’s rug until we can’t anymore. Until we finally understand for ourselves what Benjamin Franklin really meant. That knowing is better than wondering, that waking is better than sleeping, and even the biggest failure, even the worst, beat the hell out of never trying."
